Abstrak

This workshop activity aims to strengthen digital-based basic Japanese language literacy for students of SMKN 2 Kota Depok. The background of the activity is based on students' low ability to read and understand Japanese characters (Kana and Kanji) which is an obstacle in facing Japanese language competency tests such as JLPT. The implementation method is carried out in three stages: planning, workshop implementation, and post-activity evaluation. The activity was held on July 28, 2025 and was attended by 52 Japanese language extracurricular students. The questionnaire results showed that 98–100% of participants were satisfied and benefited from the activity, especially in the use of social media as a means of learning Japanese. This activity shows that a digital-based approach is effective in increasing students' interest and foreign language literacy.
